Hospital: PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dover
Diagnosis: Parkinson’s Disease, vestibular issues
Two years ago, Dr. Michael Martin joined us at PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Dover for our Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) Big and Loud program. He had heard about the program’s reputation for assisting those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in improving movement, speech, and cognitive functions using research-based protocols. Dr. Martin rejoined us in again in 2025 for what he called a “tune-up” to maximize his motor skills prior to traveling this summer.
A retired member of the United States Air Force, Dr. Martin served as the dentist at the Dover Air Force Base before opening a private practice in Delaware. Spanning 40 years, his dental career took him all around the world, including England, Japan, California, Texas, and Delaware.
Question: What do you like to do for fun? What motivated you to seek therapy at PAM Health?
Answer: My wife and I love to travel. One of our favorite places to travel is to Europe, and I want to be able to continue traveling together as long as possible. I also enjoy spending time with our children and seven grandchildren and being able to attend their sporting events without worrying about pain. My wife and I are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year!
