Noe Robles-Castaneda fell at work, resulting in a fractured right ulna (bone in the forearm). He initially chose a different hospital for rehabilitation, only to realize it wasn’t a good fit. While exploring other inpatient rehab options, Mr. Robles-Castaneda found a video about PAM Health on our YouTube that highlighted our exceptional standard of care.

He decided PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sugar Land would be the best place for him to receive the care he needed to heal!

When Mr. Robles-Castaneda arrived at PAM Health, he was struggling with the loss of his former independence, having a hard time with activities of daily living.  Neuropathy in his right leg also made standing difficult, and he was often bedbound.  With the unwavering compassion, care, and support of our team, Mr. Robles-Castaneda worked hard to regain his strength and mobility.

Mr. Robles-Castaneda credits the patience, empathy, and expert skills of our staff in helping him progress and supporting his mental and physical health: our therapists for always looking out for his safety; nurses for diligently attending to his medication needs; CNAs for tending to his personal needs and hygiene; and housekeeping for tidying his room daily. “The hospital works like a big, beautiful puzzle…You guys always find a way to support me, and it’s small, but as a patient, when you’re having a bad day, it really means a lot,” Mr. Robles-Castaneda said.  Mr. Robles-Castaneda looks forward to returning home and cooking all of his favorite recipes. Ronnie Reed

While Ronnie Reed was fixing a skid loader at a construction site, “something gave way” on the equipment.  Although there were no broken bones in his right leg, a major artery had been severed. He underwent multiples surgeries, and doctors managed to save his leg by placing a stent in the main artery behind his right knee.

After about a week in the hospital, Ronnie transferred to PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Georgetown for the next step in his recovery journey.  PAM Health Georgetown’s expert team of professionals–including wound care, therapy, nursing, and doctors–immediately stepped in to help. He had a wound VAC device on his injured leg, and he credits wound care nurse Taylor as the reason he was able to keep his leg.

PAM Health’s rigorous requirement of three hours of therapy daily maximizes healing for patients like Ronnie–and it kept him busy, which he appreciated. Having had some experience with other rehabilitation facilities where his mother had spent time, Ronnie knew the intensive level of therapy and dedicated care he was receiving exceeded what he would have gotten elsewhere.

By the time I arrived at PAM Health, I had already been hospitalized for more than 30 days at another medical facility. The staff understood I was fatigued by my prior hospital stay. Throughout the duration of my stay at PAM Health, the aides, nurses, and doctors made every effort to make me comfortable as I healed and regained my strength. I felt less like a patient and more like one of their friends.

My admission experience was something akin to checking in at a hotel. The fine treatment I received at my arrival continued until the day I finally departed. In short, I was treated royally during my stay at PAM and for that I am very grateful.

The atmosphere at PAM Health was very relaxed and felt less like a typical hospital. I was pleasantly surprised by the meals I received at PAM Health. The variety and quality of the food was far above what one typically finds in a hospital. During an extended hospital stay, this is certainly an important consideration!

The Wound Care team was great and highly professional. On day one of my admission, they involved a doctor in my treatment. In three minutes that doctor ended a bleeding issue that I had had for the prior five days before I transferred to PAM Health. Likewise, my admission to PAM Health set me on an aggressive physical therapy plan that got me on the road to independent movement. Michael and his team were wonderful and very accommodating. If I needed my therapy session rescheduled to a morning or afternoon session, such accommodations were often cheerfully made. Like the Wound Care team, the Physical Therapy team was professional, upbeat and pleasant. I found their enthusiasm inspiring and infectious.
