Mr. Orozco came to PAM Specialty Hospital of Victoria, North in early November following a stay at a local acute care hospital. He had been fishing for several hours when he returned home and began having pain, as well as redness in his left leg, with fever and chills. All of his labs were abnormal upon arrival to the hospital, and surgical intervention was required to drain the fluid from his leg. Mr. Orozco required extensive wound care with negative pressure wound therapy, along with long-term antibiotics.
Mr. Orozco has made significant progress while here with his strength, endurance and wound healing. One of his goals is to return home as soon as possible to be with his family. He is unsure if he will ever go fishing again, but he laughs and says he reached the legal limit the day this happened to him. Mr. Orozco is forever thankful to all of the staff at PAM Specialty Hospital of Victoria, North for being so kind and treating him like family.
