Dr. Weeratunge currently provides Infectious Disease consults in our facility. She is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. She is originally from Sri Lanka and moved to the United States in 1999 to complete a residency in Internal Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Weeratunge is also a published author having written a book about her reflections of life, family and traditions in Sri Lanka. She is an integral part of the care we provide and is dedicated to assisting in the need for infectious disease management in the post-acute setting to include acute and chronic infection, antibiotic .
