dr goren.jpg(Enola, PA) — PAM Health has enlisted Dr. Lawrence Goren as an official adviser/consultant for their Workers’ Compensation program.  Dr. Goren’s clinical expertise and employer knowledge base will enhance PAM Health’s ability to serve both injured workers and the various stakeholders involved in the claim. He will provide updates on industry standards and connect PAM Health to large employers interested in maximizing their workers’ compensation outcomes.

In 2023, PAM Health hospitals cared for several hundred injured workers on the inpatient side and many more at their outpatient clinics.

Dr. Goren is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Pivot Onsite Innovations, which now serves more than 100 clinics in more than 42 states. For the past 30 years, he has developed quality workers’ compensation management programs for companies around the country and tailored health promotion services to organizations ranging from construction and manufacturing to services firms, with employee populations from 50 to 10,000 people.

A nationally recognized leader in occupational health, Dr. Goren is frequently called upon as a leader and presenter at health conferences and industry panels and has written numerous articles on health management. In addition, his Pivot Onsite occupational health program has been cited in The Workers Compensation Bureau Quarterly as a model program.

“Throughout my career as a medical director, I have managed the overall care of employees involved in catastrophic and near catastrophic work injuries. These life-changing events require a best-in-class team approach,” Dr. Goren said. “I have dealt with PAM Health throughout my career. I have encountered an incredible group of people who have created some of the most innovative and successful approaches to many of the complex medical issues that patients and family members face during these most difficult times. It is for this reason that I have agreed to lend my experience as an advisor to the PAM health catastrophic and near-catastrophic work injury team. It will be my pleasure and my honor to work with some of the most talented physicians who care for these patients and their families who are being treated in their LTACs, acute inpatient rehab hospitals, and their specialty outpatient clinics.  To me, the way that the PAM Health team cares for their patients and the associated outcomes for their patients who suffer these very complex medical events is true value-based care for all involved.”

Dr. Goren completed his medical education and residency in General Surgery and fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Drexel College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann Medical College). In addition, he developed the occupational medicine program at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Earlier in his career, Dr. Goren was a founder and owner of Coordinated Health Systems of the Lehigh Valley, a combined freestanding occupational medicine, orthopedic and rehabilitation company with locations throughout the northeastern part of Pennsylvania. He holds or has held the appointment of corporate Medical Director at several major fortune 500/100 corporations.
