Hospital: PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Clear Lake
Diagnosis: Right femur fracture
Corbett Thompson first came to PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Clear Lake as an inpatient following a fall that resulted in a right femur fracture. After spending 18 days inpatient, Mr. Thompson discharged home and is continuing his therapy as an outpatient. Upon his initial outpatient evaluation, Mr. Thompson required assistance from caregivers 24 hours a day, was non-ambulatory, and was still mostly non-weight-bearing on his injured leg.
Some of the goals that Mr. Thompson achieved were:
- Walking 600 feet with walker
- Living independently without the need of supervision
- Running errands and living his normal everyday life
During his five months of outpatient therapy, Mr. Thompson has transitioned from a wheelchair to walking independently with a walker while also walking with a cane at home successfully. Mr. Thompson says he has met such a great group of therapists with positive attitudes. Mr. Thompson also states that his family is proud of his progress.
“I don’t know who is running this place, but they are doing a very good job!” -Mr. Thompson
