Tim Power: Journey Back to Independence
Meet Mr. Tim Power, a vibrant 41-year-old husband, father, and musician whose life took an unexpected turn in early March 2025. Known for his love of family, friends, and music—Tim plays the bass, guitar, and drums—he lived an active and independent life, working full time and enjoying every moment with his loved ones.
When Tim experienced a sudden and severe episode of dizziness, he knew something wasn’t right. He sought emergency care in Coffeyville and was quickly transferred to Hillcrest Medical Center, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a large stroke. The stroke significantly impacted his ability to walk, speak, and even eat—turning his world upside down in an instant.
PAM Rehab really is the place to get better. My entire goal was to get home to my family, but they made me reach even higher. My new goal is to return home with the same standard of life I had before—and with their help, I am. I’ll be playing the drums and the guitar in no time, and it’s because of the staff at PAM. Thank you for all you do.
Although he made promising progress at Hillcrest, Tim knew he needed a focused and intensive rehabilitation program to regain his quality of life. That’s when he came to PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Tulsa.
From the moment he arrived at PAM, Tim poured his heart into recovery. Through hard work and the skilled, compassionate care of his physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams, Tim began to reclaim his independence. He can now speak clearly, enjoy meals with his family, dress himself, perform daily activities, and even walk independently again.
Tim specifically expressed deep gratitude for his therapists, Tien and Sharon, recognizing their unwavering dedication to his journey. In his own words: “PAM Rehab really is the place to get better. My entire goal was to get home to my family, but they made me reach even higher. My new goal is to return home with the same standard of life I had before—and with their help, I am. I’ll be playing the drums and the guitar in no time, and it’s because of the staff at PAM. Thank you for all you do.”
We are incredibly proud of Tim’s recovery and inspired by his determination. His story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with the right care, the right mindset, and a heart full of purpose.
