Hospital: PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Clear Lake North
Diagnosis: Stroke
Mr. Lovfald came to PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Clear Lake North from Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital after having a stroke while taking out his trash at home. He came to us with left hemiplegia, generalized weakness, and dysphagia.
At PAM Health, Mr. Lovfald was under the care of Dr. Asha Dhuka’s team (physical medicine and rehabilitation). Mr. Lovfald stated that the highlight of his rehab was “being able to accept each challenge my therapists have given me.” His physical therapist Shobid and occupational therapist Liz both said that Mr. Lovfald has made excellent gains in left arm and leg coordination, and he is able to dress himself with minimal assistance. Mr. Lovfald said that “each department worked really well with each other to help him get back to his normal day-to-day life.” His wife, a constant by his side, said that seeing him in therapy reassured her that he would be ok. Mr. Lovfald was very motivated to challenge himself during his stay, especially with the support of his wife and family throughout his stay. He discharged home and continues his care in outpatient therapy at PAM Health. Congratulations, Mr. Lovfald!
“The staff here are inspirational.” -Lorin Lovfald
