Hospital: PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Denver
Diagnosis: Wound care
Jessica Lindner developed cellulitis and possible necrotizing fasciitis in her right calf from a wound. At UCHealth Greeley Hospital, she underwent multiple incision and drainage procedures, as well as a procedure for a split thickness skin graft. As Ms. Lindner considered her next level of care after the acute care hospital, she knew she needed to be somewhere with the best wound care possible. After hearing from some of her care team at UCHealth Greeley that PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Denver was second to none, she decided to come to us to continue her wound healing journey.

Ms. Lindner’s wound had hampered her mobility and independence, and when she arrived at PAM Health, she couldn’t even stand. She was discouraged at first, especially as her wound was still critical, but she kept fighting. With the support of our expert wound care team, our nursing and CNA staff, including Lizz and Leonard, and our physical and occupational therapy teams, Ms. Lindner’s progress eventually took off. She credits Dr. Reynolds with “saving” her leg, and she shared in his excitement as her wound healing progressed. She also appreciated Dr. Rai and his team for helping her feel comfortable and understood when she was initially uncertain about what the future held. As her wound improved, Ms. Lindner worked hard in therapy to regain her mobility. After initially requiring a wheelchair, she impressed herself in therapy one day when her team encouraged her to try standing at her walker and taking a few steps. She accomplished that remarkable milestone and more and discharged home walking independently. “I’m so amazed at the progress I made with my leg and therapy,” Ms. Lindner said, adding that she won’t forget the confidence and support our staff gave her. She is eager to see her kids again and simply return to her normal life from before her hospitalization. We are so proud of your inspirational journey of resilience and perseverance!
