How Our Admissions Process Works

Typically, patients will be admitted into our long-term acute care hospital after being referred by their healthcare providers. The situations that lead to admission vary. Some patients may be experiencing multi-system complications while others may be coming from the ICU. We also welcome you to contact us directly even without a referral from your healthcare provider.

Regardless of how you come to us for care, you will work with a patient coordinator who will handle everything from evaluating your needs to helping you transition into post-acute care.

Neuro-Behavioral Unit

Our hospital also offers a Neuro-Behavioral Unit (NBU), which provides inpatient rehabilitation in a secure, supervised, and highly structured environment for adults with brain injuries and cognitive impairments as well as behavioral challenges.

Our goal is to:

  • promote maximum medical and functional recovery of individuals following a disabling injury or illness.
  • provide comprehensive specialty programs in behavioral modification and physical rehabilitation.
  • support and educate patients and their families with strategies to compensate for residual deficits.
  • provide a continuum of care from inpatient hospitalization to ambulatory services, including home care.
