What Sets Us Apart?
At PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Denver, we have brought together a talented team of professionals to speed our patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual recoveries. In addition to our Wound Care expertise, we provide best in class post-trauma care for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) recovery. Our team of compassionate medical professionals are dedicated to helping patients achieve their highest possible functional status after a severe illness or injury.
The Wound Healing Institute of Denver
Our nationally recognized Wound Care Program is led by Dr. Pradeep Rai – a General Surgeon with 20 years of diverse experience in wound and burn care – and Dr. Craig Reynolds – a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with 43 years of experience. Our program is unique in the curative approach taken to wound healing, rather than conventional wound management. Our nationally recognized Wound Care Program has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Disease Specific Wound Care Certification. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
The hallmark of our Wound Care Program is the Bedside Wound Closure (BWC). It is an innovative surgical approach designed to address difficult, non-healing wounds that are refractory to traditional wound therapies. The surgeon performs a direct closure of the wound at the bedside followed by a progressive aftercare program of rest, stretching and sitting. The advantages of the Bedside Wound Closure are:
- The Bedside Wound Closure (BWC) is performed at the patient’s bedside under local anesthesia
- Less metabolic demand on the patient than traditional FLAP surgery
- Less stress on the patient due to the avoidance of general anesthesia and transport to an acute care hospital
Healing is achieved with a protocol-driven 8-week program.
